Josh sits down with Carv co-founder Jamie Grant. Carv is a digital ski coach that uses both hardware and software to track your form, skiing habits, and helps to correct them to give you better skiing form. By inserting the Carv footbed into your boot, data is sent directly to their app to delivery you real time analysis so you get feedback as your skiing to help with your form. This UK based company first got its start while Grant was getting his PHD in Financial Economics and looking at how machine learning could be applied to financial markets. This spark of excitement prompted Grant to apply this technology to real world data; and with his love for skiing it wasn’t long until he found a way to combine the two, creating the spark that started Carv. With more and more technologically advancing being brought to the outdoor sport world we are extraordinarily interested in how this could shape the future of skiing and snowboarding.
